Secretary General of Foreign Ministry of Armenia participates at Raisina Middle East

On January 28, Davit Karapetyan, the Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia participated and delivered remarks at the discussion entitled “Hinterland to High Streets: Connectivity, Commerce and Communities” within the framework of the Raisina Middle East, the foreign ministry said in a press release. 

In his remarks the Secretary General elaborated on the importance of overcoming the impact of regional crises on trade and transport, underscoring  the negative effects of conflicts  on regional infrastructure and economies.  He emphasised that ensuring secure transport corridors and fostering investment in infrastructure is of key importance for regional peace and sustainable growth.

The Secretary General noted that Armenia, facing and resisting geopolitical and security challenges for decades, remains steadfast in its position that regional cooperation and transport projects can overcome political divides and foster peace, stability, and growth. 

A prime example of this is Armenia’s “Crossroads of Peace” initiative. which aims to transform the security partnership architecture in the South Caucasus and neighboring regions.

The Secretary General emphasised that the initiative aims to promote regional cooperation by enhancing connectivity between Gulf, Black Sea, and Caspian Sea regions, integrating them into global transport chains. 

Touching upon the role of Armenia historically connecting East and West, fostering trade and cultural exchange, likewise the Middle East’s role as a global trade hub David Karapetyan stressed that secure trade routes linking these regions can revive this role and significance, promoting economic ties, cultural dialogue, and global stability.
