Italian Federico Iacomoni first to complete 177-km route on second day of Tour of Armenia

On the second day of the Tour of Armenia international professional multi-stage cycling race, cyclists from 16 teams representing countries around the world completed the approximately 177-km Kirants-Stepanavan route.

The Armenian Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport reported that Italian cyclist Federico Iacomoni (Team Ukyo) was the first to cross the finish line, finishing just a few millimetres ahead of Leonardo Vesco (Biesse-Carrera-Premac), who fought heroically.

Iacomoni completed the course in 4 hours, 19 minutes and 46 seconds, at an average speed of 40.882 km/h.

The Tour of Armenia is broadcast on a number of prominent international platforms, including HBO Max, Disney+, ESPN, FloSports, Okko, SBS, SPOTV and Zhibo TV.

The Tour of Armenia international multi-stage cycling race is included in the UCI Europe Tour calendar as a category 2.2 event. The first stage took place on September 10, starting in Gavar and finishing in Mets Masrik after following the shores of Lake Sevan and covering a total distance of 135 km.
