Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade spokesperson Ani Badalyan confirmed Wednesday that an agreement has been reached to hold a meeting between FM Ararat Mirzoyan and his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov in the near future.
Badalyan did not provide a timeframe for the meeting, saying that the ministry would provide information.
“Work is ongoing, and there is an agreement on an upcoming meeting. We will provide information,” Badalyan told Armenpress when asked about Azerbaijani media reports quoting Bayramov as saying that he would soon meet his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan.
The most recent meeting between the two FMs was in late August in Bishkek, where Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held talks on the sidelines of the SCO summit.
