YEREVAN, DECEMBER 15, ARMENPRESS. Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I visitedthe Armenian Embassy in the Islamic Republic of Iran on December 15. Leaders of the Armenian Dioceses in Iran and representatives of the Armenian community in Iran accompanied His Holiness, “Armenpress” was informed from the press service of MFA Armenia.
Greeting His Holiness, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Iran Artashes Tumanyan presented the current situation of Armenia-Iran relations, referred to the important role of the Armenian community in Iran in Armenian-Iranian inter-state relations, as well as a number of issues of all-Armenian concern.
Catholicos Aram I mentioned that he is impressed by his visit to Tehran and highlighted the strengthening of Fatherland-Diaspora relations, assessing it as a pivotal precondition for preserving the Armenian identity and national ascent.
