Catholicos Aram I of the Great House of Cilicia has sent a letter to U.S. Vice President JD Vance, urging his attention to the release of the military and political leadership of Karabakh, as well as Armenian prisoners of war held in Baku, the Holy See of Cilicia said in a Facebook post.
According to the statement, His Holiness also drew the U.S. Vice President’s attention to the urgent issue of ensuring the safe preservation of spiritual and cultural monuments in Nagorno-Karabakh, calling for his personal intervention.
In the letter, Catholicos Aram I recalled that international law clearly underscores the importance of both the release of prisoners of war and the protection of spiritual and cultural heritage.
The Catholicosate noted that the letter has already reached the U.S. Vice President.
