Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Archbishop Shahan Sarkissian.
According to a readout from the Prime Minister’s Office, the Archbishop, on behalf of Catholicos Aram I of the Great House of Cilicia, presented Prime Minister Pashinyan with a volume published on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Aram I’s enthronement. The Archbishop also conveyed to Prime Minister Pashinyan the warm greetings and blessings of Catholicos Aram I.
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude and noted that it was a great honor for him to receive the gift. Pashinyan also asked to convey his warm greetings and best wishes to Catholicos Aram I.
Archbishop Shahan Sarkissian noted that they cooperate effectively with the Matenadaran administration and welcomed the fact that the Armenian Government had donated Sargis Shnorhali's “Commentary on the Seven Catholic Epistles” to the Matenadaran. According to the Archbishop, His Holiness Aram I also highly appreciated this step by the Government.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the activities of the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia and discussed the situation of the Armenian communities in Lebanon and Syria in the context of developments taking place in the Middle East.
