Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said Thursday that despite the absence of diplomatic ties with Turkiye the two countries have developed a very active and effective dialogue.
“While not having official diplomatic relations with Turkiye, we have far more active and effective dialogue than many other countries who do have diplomatic ties. Of course, anyone who’d say it’s time for that dialogue to have its tangible results on the ground would be right. If someone were to say this, I would agree,” the FM told lawmakers during a parliamentary committee hearing on the budget report.
He said the Armenia-Turkiye dialogue has been developing positively for quite some time now, and although there’ve been mid-term results, the Armenian side believes it is time to see the final outcome.
Speaking about the Armenian-Azerbaijani normalization, Mirzoyan attached great importance to the finalization of the terms of the peace treaty, which is yet to be signed.
Mirzoyan reiterated Armenia’s readiness to start talks with Azerbaijan to determine the venue and date for signing the peace treaty.
