United States adds Turkish bank to Iran-related sanctions list

Turkish bank Golden Global and its subsidiaries have been added to the US sanctions list concerning Iran, according to a notice published on the website of the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Two of the bank’s branches, which also operate in Türkiye, have also been placed under restrictions.

At the same time, the US Treasury Department issued a general licence allowing US persons until September 19 to take the necessary steps to wind down financial transactions involving Golden Global.
