YEREVAN, DECEMBER 7, ARMENPRESS:
Irrespective of the circumstance whether the integration processes will be within the framework of CIS, EurAsEc or EU, Armenia is interested in integration processes, as first of all it stems from the profits of the economic players of the country, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan briefed journalists December 7 at National Assembly in answer to the question whether Armenia will affiliate EurAsEc or not. "We look upon integration processes as means of complementing one another. In Saint Petersburg we signed an agreement on free trade zone between CIS states, thanks to which our economic players can export their products and services to the territory of the mentioned countries without any restriction. I think this has a serious prospective," the head of the government said.
The Prime Minister reminded that at the moment Armenia has a status of an observer in EurAsEc and the regimes, which have been introduced by Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan within the framework of the joint customs zone of that structure are not technically possible to introduce in our country.
"There is no experience in the world practice, according to which a country affiliates the Customs Union, without having common border with it. If the products are to be exported through a second country, it means that all the functions of clearance must be implemented. That is, all the advantages of the customs zone are pushed away. From that viewpoint, affiliation with the Customs Union becomes senseless," said Tigran Sargsyan, adding that in this case the answer of our country is understandable for the partners.
At the same time, the PM expressed hope that in 2012 the talks with EU over Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement will start. "Introduction of the European standards into Armenia will give an additional opportunity to freely enter to the European big joint market. In these directions we will go on with our cooperation with our partners of the European Union," said Tigran Sargsyan.
