PM Pashinyan receives Secretary General of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation

YEREVAN, JULY 1, ARMENPRESS. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan received the Secretary General of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) Lazar Comanescu.

According to the readout issued by the Prime Minister's Office, Pashinyan noted that as a country that has assumed the Chairmanship-in-Office of the Organization since July 1, Armenia attaches importance to the consistent development of cooperation between member states in various spheres of the economy. 

PM Pashinyan stressed the role of the Organization in promoting regional cooperation and added that the Armenian Government is interested in the expansion of connections in transport, energy, telecommunications and other directions.

According to Lazar Comanescu, effective discussions were held with colleagues from the Armenian Government to outline priorities during their chairmanship-in-office of the Organization and to implement them.

It is noted that the interlocutors exchanged ideas on the "Crossroads of Peace" project of the Armenian Government, the construction process of the North-South highway in Armenia and issues related to regional economic cooperation.
