Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said new developments may be possible in the border delimitation process with Azerbaijan, speaking during a Q&A session with Cabinet members in parliament.
Mirzoyan referred to the Washington Declaration and the initialing of the peace treaty as significant developments. He noted that establishing peace is a long-term process that requires caution, care and consistency.
“Today, we are working with Azerbaijan in the direction of unblocking, there may be developments in the border delimitation process,” he said. Mirzoyan added that discussions are also underway with U.S. partners, particularly regarding joint railway and other infrastructure projects.
He stressed that addressing humanitarian issues remains a priority, including the release of prisoners and hostages and the clarification of the fate of the missing. According to Mirzoyan, while some challenges may remain even after the signing of a peace agreement, the risks of escalation and renewed conflict are currently minimized.
