Trump envoys arrive in Moscow

U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner landed in Moscow on Saturday for talks on the war in Ukraine.

They were met by Russian presidential envoy Kirill Dmitriev at the airport.

“Welcome to Moscow Peacemakers Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner,” Dmitriev said on X, posting a photo of him welcoming the American envoys.

On Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump said his envoys would bring a “proposal to end the war” to both Moscow and Kyiv, but refrained from giving any exact timeframe or further details on the upcoming trips.

Earlier this week, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner “are always welcome guests, and we are pleased to work with them,” appearing to hint at the upcoming visit, RT reported.

Neither Washington nor Moscow, however, gave any official estimate of when exactly the trip might happen. Both men have been on missions to Moscow during Trump’s second term, yet neither has traveled to Kyiv.
