Over the past year, a number of measures have been implemented at the Erebuni Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve to improve its infrastructure, upgrade the surrounding area, ensure proper preservation conditions and enhance security, Yerevan City Hall said in a press release.
Extensive sanitation and cleanup work was carried out to ensure the proper maintenance of the museum and its surrounding areas, removing around 20 truckloads of accumulated garbage and waste from the site.

Around 750 square meters of the museum building’s roof were renovated, along with a 150-square-meter inner courtyard. The sewage system was cleaned and partially repaired, while the irrigation system was also partially restored.

The museum’s second floor underwent major renovations, and ventilation and fire alarm systems were installed, improving working conditions, visitor services and safety.
The artificial excavation site behind the museum, which is used for educational programs and summer schools, was also renovated. Two non-functioning vehicles belonging to the museum were also completely repaired.

The landscaping efforts also focused on the museum’s green spaces, with 100 Italian cypress trees planted on the premises. Trees that have dried out and lost their viability due to an irrigation system that had been out of operation for years are planned to be replaced with new trees.
The measures are aimed at improving preservation conditions at the Erebuni Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve, upgrading the site and creating a more comfortable and safer environment for visitors.
