City Hall rebrands Multi Wellness amid Tsarukyan probe

The former Multi Wellness health and fitness complex has reopened under a new name, with existing service packages remaining valid for customers, following its closure amid an investigation into the assets of its owner, business tycoon Gagik Tsarukyan.

“All customers with active service packages will continue to use them. The period during which the complex was closed will be added to the validity of your packages, and all services purchased previously will continue to be provided,” Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan said.

He added that Yerevan City Hall will ensure the complex's normal operation and that residents can once again return to training and use its facilities.

The Multi Wellness sports and leisure complex opened in Yerevan in October 2016. The building was owned by businessman and Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan. Earlier, Avinyan said the building had been constructed on inalienable municipal land and alleged that the construction had been carried out in violation of applicable regulations.

According to the mayor, the municipality terminated the relevant agreement in accordance with its terms, resulting in the building being transferred in its entirety to the ownership and administration of Yerevan Municipality.
