Armenia’s preparations to host COP17 in full swing

The Ministry of Environment of Armenia hosted the latest meeting of the organizing committee for the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP17).
According to a ministry readout, Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan and other officials involved in the preparations discussed organizational matters related to the Leaders’ Summit and high-level meetings, as well as the ongoing work of the working groups and upcoming tasks.
They also discussed ongoing work at the Meridian Expo Center, including preparations at the venue and progress on infrastructure improvements, as well as work being carried out by Yerevan City Hall.
The meeting also addressed arrangements for healthcare and epidemic prevention measures, the deployment of medical stations and ensuring the necessary conditions.
The ministry said preparations for CBD COP17 are continuing at an intensive pace, with organizational and infrastructure work progressing across all areas to ensure the conference is held to a high standard.
