Armenia officially sets up task force to resolve ‘horrendous’ traffic jams in Yerevan

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has officially established an interdepartmental task force tasked with resolving traffic congestion in Yerevan.

Pashinyan had earlier described traffic in Yerevan as “horrendous.” He said he would order a special task force involving the relevant authorities to find solutions.

The decree establishing the task force was published on Thursday. The team will be led by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan and will include Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan, Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan, Chairman of the Urban Development Committee Yeghiazar Vardanyan, and other officials.
