Defense Ministry denies report of serviceman killed in Sisian

The Armenian Ministry of Defense denied reports circulating on social media that a serviceman was killed in Sisian, Syunik Province.

“False information is being circulated on social media regarding ‘a serviceman being killed in Sisian,’” Defense Ministry spokesperson Aram Torosyan said in a statement.

Armenia’s National Security Service earlier issued a statement saying that an Azerbaijani serviceman illegally crossed the Armenian border and shot an Armenian citizen in the leg in the settlement of Shaki in Syunik Province. The Azerbaijani serviceman has been arrested.
