A major new road project linking two Armenian provinces is expected to boost tourism and economic activity.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a Cabinet meeting that a road spanning from Urtsadzor in Ararat Province to Martuni in Gegharkunik Province will be constructed.
Currently, the two provinces are connected only via Vayots Dzor and Kotayk provinces or through Yerevan, which lengthens travel times and limits economic and tourism links, the Prime Minister said.
“This road will significantly boost economic activity in both Gegharkunik and Ararat provinces. Along the route and at its endpoints, there are areas with high tourism potential,” Pashinyan emphasized.
