The Armenian government must bring people’s confidence in peace to its final outcome—the signing and ratification of the initialed peace agreement with Azerbaijan, PM Nikol Pashinyan has said.
Speaking at the Cabinet meeting, Pashinyan said that economic activity and real estate market indicators demonstrate citizens’ optimism.
Pashinyan said the economy is closely linked to people’s expectations and sentiments. He noted that economic indicators reflect confidence in peace despite the alarmist assessments circulating in the news.
The Prime Minister emphasized that peace is already a reality, but it has not yet been fully institutionalized. According to him, the government must meet people’s expectations and bring the process to completion.
“We have reached an interim milestone. But it is an interim milestone, not the final one. And we must move toward the final milestone,” the Prime Minister said.
In the context of the need to sign and ratify the peace agreement, Pashinyan also mentioned the TRIPP project, delimitation, the opening of communications, the process with Türkiye, the North-South road, and the “Crossroads of Peace” concept.
He urged Cabinet members to build their political messages and strategies around this priority, focusing on real-life problems and practical solutions. According to Pashinyan, the daily information noise should not distract the government from its main task.
