Russia has said it will look into the details of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity, or TRIPP, which is envisaged under the Armenian-Azerbaijani accords signed in Washington.
“Regarding the Trump route, the Russian foreign ministry will study the details of the project, which, by the way, haven’t been disclosed yet,” Deputy Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Information and Press Department Alexey Fadeev said at a press briefing, according to Kommersant newspaper. “Like we’ve said earlier, the engagement of extra-regional forces in the South Caucasus ought to advance the peace agenda and not create new issues and dividing lines.”
He said that Armenia’s membership to the Eurasian Economic Union and the presence of Russian border guards in the Syunik province must be taken into account in the context of the project.
Under the Washington accords signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia will work with the United States of America and mutually determined third parties, to set forth a framework for the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP) connectivity project.
