YEREVAN, OCTOBER 24, ARMENPRESS. The future peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, known as the Agreement on Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, has already been agreed upon at least 80 to 90% so far, PM Nikol Pashinyan has said.
Speaking at the BRICS Outreach/Plus summit in Russia, the Armenian Prime Minister revealed which articles of the peace treaty have already been agreed upon. The wordings on mutual recognition of territorial integrity, mutual exclusion of territorial claims and obligation on not presenting such claims in the future, maintaining the principle of the non-use of force or the threat of force, non-interference in each other’s domestic affairs, establishment of diplomatic relations and creation of bilateral mechanisms on the implementation of the obligations assumed by the parties have been agreed upon.
“The draft treaty, in its currently agreed upon content, is wording, addressing and resolving all principled issues that are required for creating firm grounds for peace and normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and we are offering Azerbaijan to already sign this treaty,” Pashinyan said.
