YEREVAN, JUNE 16, ARMENPRESS. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan held a meeting on June 16 with Alexey Miller - Chairman ofthe Management Committee, Deputy Chairman ofthe Board ofDirectors of Russia’s Gazprom PJSC.
The president emphasized that 2017 is a symbolic year for the two countries – Armenia and Russia mark the 25th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties – and was pleased to note that these years have become partnership strengthening years for the two countries in all directions.
In the dynamic development and enhancement of the Armenian-Russian inter-governmental relations, the president highly valued Gazprom’s role. President Sargsyan praised Gazprom’s programs in Armenia through one of the leading companies of Armenia’s economy - Gazprom Armenia, which directly impact the development of other branches of the economy as well.
Alexey Miller thanked the Armenian president for the reception and presented Gazprom’s ongoing activities, contribution in increasing the level of energy security of Armenia and development programs, including the investment projects in Armenia through Gazprom Armenia, where social programs have an important role as well.
The Gazprom executive also briefed the president on the construction process of a educational-sports complex in Yerevan, project realized under the assistance of Gazprom Armenia on the sidelines of its large project Gazprom For Children. The construction of this exclusively social and multifunctional project, including a kindergarten, school, pool, skiing field and halls for various sports, will be finished until next year’s end, according to Alexey Miller.
Highlighting the level of representation of Gazprom in Armenia’s economy, as well as its involvement in ongoing infrastructure projects, the president wished success and good luck in the implementation of all programs of the company.
