Pashinyan accuses former presidents of dragging Armenia into war during their tenures

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has once again accused former presidents Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Robert Kocharyan, and Serzh Sargsyan of having dragged Armenia into war during their respective tenures.

Speaking at the Armenian Forum for Democracy, Pashinyan rejected accusations by the former leaders that he is responsible for the 2020 war.

“If we dragged the country into war, then what was an 18-year-old soldier doing outside the internationally recognized territory of Armenia as of 2018? Why haven’t we talked about this? And if anyone did talk about it, it was considered treason,” Pashinyan said.
“The same people who dragged Armenia into war from the very first day of their political careers—and fled halfway through—are now accusing us of dragging Armenia into war.”
He then asked rhetorically whether Armenia hadn’t been at war in 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, and earlier:

“So how is it that Nikol Pashinyan is the one who dragged Armenia into war?”

Pashinyan had earlier responded to the former presidents in a statement released on Facebook.
