Aram I meets with newly elected Lebanese President

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 4, ARMENPRESS. Catholicos of theGreat Houseof Cilicia, His HolinessAram Ivisited Baabda Presidential Palace of Lebanon and met with newly elected President Michel Aoun.

As “Armenpress” was informed from the press service of the Antilles Catholicosate, during the meeting His Holiness Aram I cordially congratulated Michel Aoun on the occasion of being elected the president of Lebanon on behalf of the Catholicosate, its dioceses, and Armenian national organizations in Lebanon. He wished the president that his election will open a new page in the contemporary Lebanese history.

Issues related to the challenges facing Christian communities of the Middle East and fostering their presence were discussed at the meeting. President Aoun and His Holiness Aram I stated the need of re-ordering of Lebanese-Armenia Diaspora and empowering Lebanon.

Other clerics of Armenian Apostolic Church were present at the meeting.
