The Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia Karen Andreasyan has issued a statement on the recent developments on the brutal assassination of the family of six in Armenia’s second largest city Gyumri. As reports “Armenpress”, the statement, particularly, runs as follows: “I again confirm the public statement I’ve made on January 15 saying that in accordance with the Armenian-Russian Interstate Treaty, the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, and the legislation, it’s the law enforcement authorities and the judicial system of Armenia that must investigate the assassination case in Gyumri. I also repeat the statement I have previously made that the accused must be handed over to the Armenian side upon the written request of the Prosecutor-General of the Republic of Armenia.
I express my support to those, who suffered from the clashes between the citizens and the Police yesterday, and wish them speedy recovery.”
