Minister of Internal Affairs and French Ambassador discuss deepening cooperation

 YEREVAN, DECEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS. Minister of Internal Affairs of  the Republic of Armenia Arpine Sargsyan on Thursday received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of France to Armenia Olivier Decottignies.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, Arpine Sargsyan expressed high appreciation for the Armenian-French friendly relations, particularly highlighting the effective cooperation between the two countries in the law enforcement sphere.

Emphasizing the joint efforts already undertaken, the Minister of Internal Affairs expressed her readiness to continue and expand the cooperation.

The Ambassador congratulated Arpine Sargsyan on her appointment and wished her success.

He also introduced Stéphane Sadak, an international expert appointed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who will support the minister and the ministry in the areas of disaster risk management and civil protection.

The Ambassador stressed France's willingness to expand cooperation further.

The meeting covered discussions on the visa liberalization dialogue with the European Union, disaster risk management, increasing resilience, combating cybercrime, the formation of the Police Guard and other issues of mutual interest.
