Starting from 2012 the school of Yerevan Zoo will start functioning. It will cooperate with all the comprehensive schools. Director of the zoo Ruben Khachatryan said speaking to Armenpress that today the issue of lack of natural education among children exists. According to him, the education aims at filling the gaps which children do not get at comprehensive schools as the basis of this education is practice.
"After classes a child may perceive the role and significance of a human on this planet, the role and significance of each animal in the nature", he said, adding that the accent will be made on special animals of the South Caucasian region. According to him, we do not know that we are the owners of that wealth.
He said it is important for a child to now our endemic animal species, plants, see and understand what is important for preserving them and instead of hunt rifle keep a camera.
