The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Armenia hosted an official reception in Yerevan to mark the 54th anniversary of the UAE’s formation. High-ranking Armenian officials, representatives of the business community, heads of diplomatic missions and members of cultural, scientific and educational institutions attended the event.

In her speech, UAE Ambassador to Armenia Nariman Al Mulla praised the bilateral relations between the two countries, emphasizing that they are built on mutual respect and shared interests. She highlighted the significant development of Armenian-UAE relations over the past three years, marked by an increase in high-level mutual visits, including the historic first visit of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to the UAE, which she described "as a milestone in bilateral cooperation".

The Ambassador emphasized the signing of multiple agreements and memorandums of understanding covering areas such as visa liberalization, mutual recognition of driving licenses, and strengthened business and investment partnerships.

“Thanks to ongoing efforts to promote investment and trade cooperation, as well as to establish direct communication channels between public and private sectors, economic relations between the UAE and Armenia have significantly expanded,” she said, pointing to increased trade turnover, more direct flights, and growing numbers of UAE tourists visiting Armenia.

Ambassador Al Mulla also highlighted the UAE’s commitment to advancing cooperation in technology and artificial intelligence. The ambassador added that the UAE government has approved more than 40 national and legislative projects, initiatives and international memorandums of understanding to attract the best companies, intellect and investment that will shape the world's development over the next two decades.

She recalled that Abu Dhabi hosted a meeting in July 2025 between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, reflecting the UAE’s dedication to peace efforts, stability, and regional prosperity.

Armenian Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan, speaking at the event, emphasized the UAE’s key importance for Armenia and praised the strong and growing multi-sectoral cooperation between the two countries.

“The UAE is Armenia’s second-largest trading partner, and we are eager to attract Emirati investments across various sectors. About thirty significant documents have been signed, providing a solid legal framework for expanded bilateral cooperation,” Sargsyan said. She  also noted the rise in tourist flows- approximately 30 direct weekly flights between the two countries.

The Minister concluded by stressing the untapped potential for deepening cooperation in political, economic, and cultural areas, expressing confidence that joint efforts could further institutionalize and elevate Armenian-UAE relations to a  higher and strategic level.
