Armenia’s high-tech minister meets U.S. semiconductor executives to boost collaboration

Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia Mkhitar Hayrapetyan held a luncheon with executives of U.S. multinational semiconductor companies with a presence in Armenia.
“The discussion focused on practical issues related to the development of the semiconductor sector, as well as procedures for controlling the export and import of technologies,” Mkhitaryan said on social media.
“We also touched upon the new opportunities stemming from the Memorandum of Understanding on Innovative Partnership in Artificial Intelligence and Semiconductors, signed between Armenia and the United States on August 8 in Washington, and our upcoming tasks in that context,” the minister said.
The participants of the meeting emphasized the importance of such formats as a platform for open, effective, and continuous dialogue between the state and the private sector.
At the end of the meeting, agreements were reached to continue joint work and develop coordinated approaches that will contribute to the development of Armenia’s technological ecosystem and the enhancement of its international competitiveness, according to the minister.
“The luncheon was organized at the initiative of Enterprise Armenia. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry Ruben Simonyan, as well as representatives of Synopsys, AMD, CISCO, Emerson (NI), Siemens, and representatives of Enterprise Armenia and technology sector associations,” Hayrapetyan concluded.
