A number of government agencies will have clearance to access the highly classified 2020 Karabakh war report, a senior lawmaker said on Wednesday.

In 2022, the ruling Civil Contract party established an ad hoc parliamentary commission to examine the circumstances surrounding the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War.
Earlier this year, the commission’s report was classified without parliamentary debate.

MP Andranik Kocharyan, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Defense and Security Affairs and head of the ad hoc commission, told reporters that certain government agencies and ministries will be granted access to the 16,000-page report.

“A decision must be made to grant access to these materials to state bodies such as the Prosecutor General’s Office, the National Security Service, and the Ministry of Defense, which will then be able to study them and make the necessary decisions,” he said.

Kocharyan noted that the top-secret report is highly important for “drawing lessons and conclusions.”
