Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan believes that the process of establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan has reached the point where what has already been documented in official agreements must be implemented.

Pashinyan described this process as a strategic deal between the two countries.

“The essence of the deal is as follows: Armenia and Azerbaijan recognize each other’s territorial integrity based on the Alma-Ata Declaration, open regional communications based on the Washington Declaration, carry out delimitation based on the already agreed-upon regulation, and leave each other in peace. This vision is also reflected in the initialed peace agreement,” the Prime Minister said at the Orbeli Forum 2025: Building Peace and Multilateral Cooperation forum.

“The peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan requires daily attention, and the commitment of the Armenian government and people to this cause is steadfast,” the Prime Minister added.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, as well as Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, both earlier said that peace has been established following the initialing of the treaty on August 8 in Washington, D.C.
