Over the seven years following 2017, Armenia's GDP per capita grew by an average of approximately $662 per year, Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan said, citing World Bank data.
The data cover Armenia's GDP per capita from 1991 to 2024.
In 1991, Armenia's GDP per capita was $573, while in 1997 it had decreased to $505, declining on average by more than $10 per year, Papoyan said.
The minister then compared the GDP figures of 1997 with those of 2007, noting that during this period, GDP increased by an average of approximately $246 per year, while over the following ten years, the annual average growth was about $141.
Comparing the GDP per capita in 2024, which was $8,501, Papoyan noted that over the seven years since 2017, this figure had increased by $4,632, or by an average of approximately $662 per year.
