Armenia, Georgia discuss transport, energy, aviation cooperation

Armenia’s Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan attended the official opening ceremony of the Georgian International Maritime Forum (GIMF 2026) in Batumi.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze delivered opening remarks at the forum.

The event brought together more than 400 delegates from around 40 countries.

The Armenian Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure said in a press release that, as part of the forum, Khudatyan met with Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili.

During the meeting, the ministers discussed issues related to bilateral cooperation in the fields of transport, energy, and aviation.

In the context of the development of the aviation sector, the ministers particularly emphasized the need to establish new direct air links between cities in Armenia and Georgia and to increase the frequency of flights.

They also touched upon the continuation of strategic cooperation in the energy sector.

The sides discussed existing issues and development prospects in the field of freight transportation and logistics, both in the context of the two countries and the broader region.

A number of other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
