The 4th cycle National Report of the Republic of Armenia under the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) was adopted during the 60th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, the Foreign Ministry has announced.
“During the adoption of Armenia’s 4th cycle UPR National Report, the head of the Armenian delegation, Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Geneva, Ambassador Hasmik Tolmajyan, emphasized the importance of the UPR mechanism and the recommendations addressed to Armenia within that framework, aimed at strengthening the human rights system,” the ministry said.
Ambassador Tolmajyan noted that Armenia accepted the vast majority of the recommendations made by UN member states during the review of the national report, held on May 1, 2025, as part of the 49th session of the UPR Working Group.
She reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to the protection and promotion of human rights, in line with the country's ongoing reforms.
The ambassador also addressed priority areas for Armenia in the context of the UPR recommendations and reform efforts, including economic, social, cultural, political, and civil rights.
During the adoption of Armenia’s UPR report, representatives of UN member states and civil society organizations delivered statements highlighting Armenia's continued dedication to human rights and reaffirming their support for the country’s ongoing democratic reforms.
