The Armenian government plans to buy a 4,3 million euro building in Brussels to move its embassy there.
Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, presenting the ministry’s expenditures during a parliamentary committee hearing on the budget, highlighted the importance of moving the embassy to the new 1500 square meter building.
“This building is located in a high-class district in Brussels housing embassies, representations and European organizations. Aside from functional and logistic advantages, the acquisition of the building will have a political and symbolic component, namely, given the expansion of the Armenia-EU partnership and the importance of ensuring greater visibility and presence in Brussels,” he said.
