India’s foreign minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, in a post on X, said, “ India and Pakistan have today worked out an understanding on stoppage of firing and military action. India has consistently maintained a firm and uncompromising stance against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. It will continue to do so.”
On May 7, India launched Operation Sindoor, a retaliatory move against Pakistan following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack of April 22 in which 26 people died.
