Archbishop Ateshyan steps down as Patriarchal Vicar

YEREVAN, MAY 24, ARMENPRESS. Archbishop Aram Ateshyan has stepped down as Patriarchal Vicar of the Armenian Patriarchate of Istanbul, Bagrat Estukyan, editor of the Armenian department of Agos newspaper told ARMENPRESS.

Ateshyan announced his resignation during a meeting in the Patriarchate.

The Patriarchate is expected to release a statement soon.
