YEREVAN, OCTOBER 29, ARMENPRESS. Armenia Government will sign an agreement with European Commission on participating in “Horizon 2020” education programme.
"Armenpress” reports that Minister of Education and Science of Armenia Armen Ashotyan noted at the sitting of the executive body that Armenia’s participation in “Horizon 2020” would promote the integration of research groups operating within our republic’s research centers and higher education institutions into European Research Area, being an active participant in scientific researches of international level and having active role in researches and projects directed towards the solution of modern societal challenges.
According to him, “Horizon 2020” includes 3 main parts: excellent science, industrial leadership and societal challenges.
Horizon 2020 funds researchers and innovators at the cutting edge of their fields working on the latest breakthroughs; it will support projects across the cycle from research to innovation; it will create opportunities to build research teams where the innovation and research potential is underexploited. The Programme supports research and innovation activities in all identified key enabling technologies, notably in the fields of micro- and nano electronics, advanced manufacturing and processing etc.
