Relics of Saint Gregory the Illuminator returned to Naples: a cross-stone erected

NAPLES, 11 APRIL, ARMENPRESS: Armenian psalms, sound under the arches of the Church of the Saint Gregory the Illuminator in the Italy’s Naples city, laid mystery on the part of the city, bearing Armenian traces. The religious ceremony of the return of the relics of the Saint Gregory the Illuminator, or as Italians call, Saint Gregory the Armenian, and the erection of the cross-stone, devoted to the centenary of the Armenian Genocide, were held.

The ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to the Holy See Michael Minasyan, the Mayor of Naples Luigi de Magistris, other high ranking guests, religious fathers of the Holy See and a large delegation of political and public figures from Armenia.

Armenpress reports that the Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II stated at the ceremony, proving the brotherly ties between the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Catholic Church, that in the hospitable land of Italy, under these sacred arches, a joint prayer is referred to the God, who gave grace to implement the blessing ceremony of return of the relics of the Saint Gregory the Illuminator and erection of the cross-stone, devoted to the centenary of the Armenian Genocide.
