In Kamenetz-Podolsk conference of Union of Armenians and consecration of chapel to take place

YEREVAN, JUNE 10, ARMENPRESS.On June 27-28, in the city of Kamenetz-Podolsk, the Union of Armenians of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church have planned a series of events.
As reports “Armenpress”, in reference toanalitika.at.uawebsite, on June 27, the union’s quarterly conference will take place, where the issues of the union’s agenda will be discussed and the plan of activities of the union’s 3rd quarter will be worked out.
On June 28, in St. Stepanos church the consecration ceremony will be held. In the1930’s all the churches in the area were destroyed. St. Stepanos was miraculously saved, and is a unique monument of the Armenian architecture. After its renovation the church belongs again to the Armenian community. According to Chairman of the Ukrainian Union of Armenians Vilen Shatvoryan, the renovation and preservation of the churches is one of the most important missions of the local Armenian community, as according to the Armenian tradition, the church is not only a spiritual but also a cultural and educational center.
