YEREVAN, MARCH 23, ARMENPRESS: In 7th tour of World Championship Candidates Tournament number one grandmaster of Armenia Levon Aronian will compete with Russian grandmaster Alexander Grischuk.
As reports Armenpress, in a result of 6 tours, having 4,5 points Levon Aronian shares the first place of tournament table with Magnus Carlsen. Peter Svidler and Vladimir Kramnik have 3 points, Teimour Radjabov and Alexander Grischuk have earned 2,5 points, Vassily Ivanchuk and Boris Gelfand are entering the 7th tour with 2 points.
The Candidates Tournament is a chess tournament organized by the world chess federation FIDE since 1950, as the final contest to determine the challenger for the World Chess Championship. The winner of the Candidates earns the right to a match for the World Championship against the incumbent World Champion.
