Minister Andreasyan holds meeting with WKF and EKF President Antonio Espinós

Within the framework of the European Karate Senior Championship held in Yerevan from May 7 to 11, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, Zhanna Andreasyan, received the President of the World and European Karate Federation, Antonio Espinós.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Hasmik Avagyan, President of the Karate Federation of Armenia Vazgen Harutyunyan, and Secretary General of the European Karate Federation Davor Cipek.

Minister Zhanna Andreasyan welcomed the participants and thanked the President of the World and European Karate Federation, emphasizing the effective cooperation with the organization, the ministry reported.

“The Government attaches great importance to the development and popularization of sports, especially among children and youth. One of the key objectives of our sports strategy is the organization of international tournaments in Armenia. In this regard, hosting the European Karate Senior Championship is a valuable experience for us,” the minister said.

According to the source, Antonio Espinós, President of the World and European Karate Federation, highly appreciated Armenia's initiative in hosting the championship and expressed confidence that it would be a significant event for Armenian sports.

“Karate is an institutional sport, and I hope this tournament will help increase interest in karate in Armenia,” said Antonio Espinós, thanking Armenia for its cooperation.

During the meeting, the parties discussed several organizational and current issues related to the championship.
