Armenia’s bid matched with criteria for hosting European Karate Championships – EKF President Antonio Espinós

Armenia is ready to host the 60th EKF Senior Karate Championships, the President of the Armenian Karate Federation Vazgen Harutyunyan and European Karate Federation President Antonio Espinós affirmed on Tuesday in Yerevan.
Armenia will host the event May 7-11.
“We are grateful to the Armenian ministry in charge for providing support to organizing this European championships. We also really appreciate Armenian Karate Federation President Vazgen Harutyunyan’s devotion to the sport. I am also happy for the fact that in two years we will be back in Armenia because the junior championships will also be held here. The Armenian Karate Federation’s bid matched the criteria for hosting the European championships,” European Karate Federation President Antonio Espinós said.
Harutyunyan added that the preparations had begun a year ago.
Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Hasmik Avagyan said Armenia is ready to host the championship with honor.
“This is a truly historic moment in Armenian sports because we will host the 60th anniversary championships. We are hosting 1000 athletes from 50 countries,” she said, highlighting the Armenian government’s priority of hosting international tournaments.
