YEREVAN, MARCH 14, ARMENPRESS. No serious progress is expected in Russian-Georgian relations before the parliamentary elections expected in Georgia in fall, political analyst Sergey Minasyan told the reporters March 14. "Putin seems to conduct tougher policy towards Georgia. If the Georgian leader changes the relations may improve," he said. According to him, the improvement of Russian-Georgian relations will have a significant role in respect of Armenian-Georgian relations.

Armenians in Georgia have played a more significant role. Minasyan said having its privileges, at the same time it creates problems inside. Tbilisi's Armenian community has started merging very quickly. The biggest community in the world is the most vulnerable in this respect.

Minasyan said during the recent years Turkey is becoming serious factor not only in the region. "Georgians realize that the Javakhi Armenians are important allies able to impede Turkey in subjecting Georgia to expansion," the political analyst said. According to him, the Turkish factor unlike the Armenian, is external.
