Prosperous Armenia says it will pursue every vote cast for the party

Ensuring that every citizen’s vote is properly accounted for remains the most important issue for the Prosperous Armenia Party, party member Arman Abovyan said during a meeting with journalists.

“We are not fighting for mandates. We have stated and reaffirm that we will pursue every single vote cast by our supporters. What matters to us, and what has always mattered to us, is the vote of confidence given to our party by the people,” Abovyan said.

According to Abovyan, the Prosperous Armenia Party has applied to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) requesting a recount of the results of the parliamentary election vote.

“We are currently engaged in a working process with the CEC,” he said.

Prosperous Armenia Party member Elinar Vardanyan added that the party is currently reviewing all published election data.

“We are waiting for the inaccuracies to be corrected, as well as for clarification on how those inaccuracies occurred. The inaccuracies must be examined as quickly as possible, while there are established deadlines for recount procedures. After all of this, we will determine our next course of action,” Vardanyan said.

According to the online vote-counting system published on the Central Electoral Commission’s website, the Prosperous Armenia Party initially received 4% of the vote, a figure that would meet the threshold for parliamentary representation. However, data later presented by CEC Chairman Vahagn Hovakimyan showed the party’s result at 3.996%, meaning that, at this stage, it does not cross the electoral threshold.

Based on the currently available results, three political forces are projected to enter parliament: the Civil Contract Party, the Armenia Alliance, and the Strong Armenia Alliance.
