Russia is prepared to provide a venue for the signing of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The statement was made by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin, according to TASS.

“As before, we are ready to assist Baku and Yerevan in unblocking transport and economic communications, resolving humanitarian issues, as well as preparing and providing a Russian platform for the signing of a peace treaty,” Galuzin said.

He noted that Russia continues to consistently support efforts by Armenia and Azerbaijan aimed at achieving a full and comprehensive normalisation of relations in line with the trilateral agreements reached by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia between 2020 and 2022.

“We see significant potential in the 3+3 regional cooperation platform, which includes Russia, Iran, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia - that is, the countries of the South Caucasus and their historical neighbours,” Galuzin said.

Armenia and Azerbaijan initialed a peace treaty in Washington on August 8, 2025.
