The Eurasian Intergovernmental Council of the EEU has granted Armenia a duty-free quota for 15,000 electric vehicles for 2026.

The decision was made at the meeting on December 11, which was attended by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan stated that further details about the distribution of the quotas will be released later.

Explaining the decision, the minister noted that starting from January 1, 2026, 15,000 electric vehicles, including hybrid electric vehicles, can be imported into Armenia without paying customs duties. There will also be no value-added tax (VAT) on these vehicles.
Papoyan reminded that this applies to electric vehicles produced in 2024, 2025, and 2026.
