$26.7M tomato greenhouse complex opens in Armenia’s Aragatsotn Province

Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan attended the official opening of the “Agro Prom” state-of-the-art tomato greenhouse complex in Aragatsotn Province.

Around 9.7 billion drams ($26.65 million) were invested as part of the project, the ministry said.

The greenhouse facility was built and equipped with modern technologies. Artificial intelligence-based management systems and robotic solutions are used in the production processes, enabling the monitoring and efficient management of crop cultivation.

No chemical agents are used in production. The greenhouse facility is GLOBALG.A.P. certified. Dutch seeds with high resistance to viruses are used for tomato production.

The company has benefited from the support program for the development of greenhouse farms in Armenia.

The company is currently also constructing a new 10-hectare greenhouse for pepper production, with an investment of around 9 billion drams planned for the project. In subsequent stages, blueberry and grape orchards are also planned to be established in adjacent areas.

The minister emphasized the importance of establishing such production facilities, highlighting their significance for economic development, attracting new investment and creating new jobs.
