Inter-agency workshop on disaster risk management held in Armenia

An inter-agency workshop on disaster risk management was held in Armenia through the joint efforts of the U.S. Embassy in Armenia and the U.S. Institute for Security Governance.

The event brought together representatives from various Armenian ministries, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as committees, the National Academy of Sciences, and the Territorial Seismic Protection Service.

According to the Rescue Service, the three-day workshop focused on key topics such as disaster risk identification, gap analysis, operational strategies, program monitoring, and assessment and clarification processes.

Participants also examined the impact of disasters at the national, regional, and local levels, that is important for effective emergency management in Armenia.

By assessing disaster threats, hazards, and associated risks, Armenia aims to build more resilient communities and enhance its disaster response and recovery capacities.

All workshop participants received certificates upon completion.
