In a social media post on Monday evening, US President Donald Trump quoted Iran's foreign minister about the destruction of Iranian nuclear sites, asserting that the sites are destroyed, but added that the U.S. would attack "again, if necessary," ABC News reported.
The US president's comments came after Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told Fox News that Tehran cannot give up on its nuclear enrichment program even as it was "severely damaged" in the U.S. attacks.
"It is stopped because, yes, damages are serious and severe. But obviously, we cannot give up on enrichment because it is an achievement of our own scientists. And now, more than that, it is a question of national pride," the foreign minister said.
On Truth Social, Trump reacted to Araghchi saying the damages were severe, writing "Of course they are, just like I said, and we will do it again, if necessary!"
On June 22, 2025, the United States attacked three nuclear facilities in Iran as part of the Iran–Israel war. U.S. president Donald Trump said the strikes "completely and totally obliterated" Iran's key nuclear enrichment facilities.
